BEd (Primary) - University of Tasmania 2010
Having grown up in country Victoria, Timothy wanted to change the world from a very young age. From near death experiences, battles with mental health and the hardships of surviving institutionalised abuse to the highs of marriage, premierships, individual sporting honours some can only dream of; his journey is relatable, heartfelt and inspiring. His organic and positive presence, coupled with an experienced voice in the public forum, one of Timothy’s presentations is a must have as your workplace, team or school’s next event or professional learning day.
Now calling himself a Tasmanian, he takes pride in being children's book author. Currently writing and living in Launceston. 'Billy The Brilliant', 'I'm The Best!' and Nowhere Else are titles that explore the adventures of Billy, a character that resembles the author himself. His writing is imaginative, engaging and analyses the adventures of being a kid in a playful, yet sensitive manner.
Alongside this he is an innovative and passionate educator, a leader, a mentor and coach who has delivered workshops and motivational speeches across three states on education, leadership, culture, mental health and well-being. A unique story teller catering for audiences from school aged children through to businesses, sporting clubs and leadership teams within the community.

"Our students thoroughly enjoyed their visit from Timothy Bristow. He is an engaging and inspiring speaker for students of all ages. ‘Billy the Brilliant’ is a wonderful book and discussing it with the author brought its message of resilience to life. Timothy’s personal stories about individuality and chasing your own dream will stay with the students for a long time. It is of particular benefit for boys to meet a sporting role model who also has a passion and ability for writing. The magic show that Timothy’s students put on added to the excitement."

"Timothy Bristow visited our school to talk to our students about being an author and to share his book, Billy the Brilliant. The students ranged in ages from 5 – 10 years and they were totally engaged throughout the pre
sentation. The main messages, of chasing your dreams and the importance of resilience, made an impact on all of the students. It was great for the students to see that authors can be “everyday people” who even play AFL! Our Year One students were inspired to write their own stories about chasing a dream and we are so excited to hear the connections they are making with Timothy and his book to their stories during this process."

"We were delighted with the student response to presenter Tim Bristow for Children's Book Week 2017. He ably demonstrated that you can be an author, active elite sportsperson and teacher and his support crew of three young magicians had instant appeal. The success of Tim's focus on resilience and encouragement to follow your own dreams was made notable with the immediate return of a large number of very positive student feedback forms, many, complete with their own illustrations."
